Eighteen Summers is a poignant, multidimensional fine art piece born from the bittersweet realization that we are granted only eighteen fleeting summers with our children before they step out to explore the wider world. Crafted on a wooden foundation, a groovy sunrises and sunsets in vibrant yellows and oranges mimics luminous stained glass through precise pyrography, rich watercolors, and detailed pen-and-ink linework. Reaching forward from this glowing motif are three handcrafted wire and mulberry paper sunflowers, their centers are in muted tones of dusty purple, brown, and grey silk linen and detailed with fine beadwork.
