A little a lot about me…
I am a Rhode Island-based mixed-media artist known for my botanically inspired fine art, including wearables, accessories, miniature paintings, pastels and intricate sculptures. Rooted in a lifelong fascination with the natural world, my work explores the delicate intersection of art and nature. My current body of work represents an exciting evolution from two-dimensional art into dimensional sculpture, utilizing a complex, multi-layered process. By combining wood and pyrography with hand-tinted mulberry paper, ink, watercolors, wire, and resin, I aim to gently redefine tangible reality. These deeply personal creations are heavily influenced by my own flower gardens as well as my upbringing on Cape Cod, where I spent countless hours tending to humble vegetable and flower gardens with my late father and where he taught about all things flora and fauna but also a nostalgic appreciation for the traditional and re-imagined Jacobean patterns found in my late mother’s custom embroidery designs.
Alongside my dedicated studio practice, I have been part of Newport County’s arts ecosystem for decades. Deeply invested in community and collaboration, I served as the Executive Director of the Four Corners Arts Center for over ten years, Vice Chair of the Portsmouth Arts & Culture Committee, and Vice President of the Portsmouth Arts Guild. As an entrepreneur and curator, I was the co-proprietor of the artisan gallery Curated in Tiverton, Rhode Island, and have produced prominent art festivals across Newport County for twenty years—including serving as the vendor curator for Newport’s Broadway Street Fair since 2017.
I hold an Associate in Fine Arts from the Community College of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Studio Art & Design from the University of URI. While most of my early 2D pieces are held in private collections, I currently have works at DeBlois Gallery in Middletown and the Wickford Art Association.
Above all, I am the proudest Mom to two strong daughters, Lily and Violet.
